This neon sign still stands in Lexington, Ky on New Circle Road. It has been there since the 1950's. This drive-in still operates today and is a wonderful nostalgic place to grab a sandwich. They still have curb service. If you every pass through Lexington, this should be a place on your to-do list. Grant you, almost everything is fried, but still, those of us who can remember cruising around places like this in our teen years, can appreciate the trip down memory lane.
Warm and hot colors make this art a wonderful selection for your home or office decor. This would look great as a unique kitchen painting as well as bedroom, master bedroom, living room, dinning room and any other place in your home. This work is done as a colored pencil drawing, but the sky was painted in in inks, and the the clouds where done with neon pinks and yellows colored pencil. Sharp detail, photo realistic image make this a unique work of art for your contemporary or modern home or office. Great ima...

I would work 8-10 hours daily on engraving a contour map with a hand held, .002 line engraver for up to 200 hours, depending on the terrain being mapped. Drawing tools have become an extension of my hand. My daily work, for over 20 years, touched on all parts of mapping, from surveyors’ notes to map folding. This daily environment was a constant honing of eye/hand skills. I have 7 basic forms that guide me, square, round, elliptical, triangle, hexagon, oval and rectangle. Master the line...

What a memory feast for my eyes David. I, Bill, worked at one of these when I was age 10, 11 & 12 years of age several nights every week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday) waiting on cars in my hometown. It was called Cafe 27 since it was on the north end of the highway 27 cruising strip. Sadly Cafe 27 has been destroyed along with the drive-in theater which was next to it. Now to your image. OUTSTANDING work of art as usual with your works. L/F
