Artist's Description
This is a colored pencil drawing of a 1933 Hudson Terraplane. I took the original photo at the Keeneland Concours event this year. I then took the original drawing and paired it with a reverse image to create this design. If you imagine the two large chrome headlights as frond chrome fenders, then I think it looks like a hot rod cumming at you.

I would work 8-10 hours daily on engraving a contour map with a hand held, .002 line engraver for up to 200 hours, depending on the terrain being mapped. Drawing tools have become an extension of my hand. My daily work, for over 20 years, touched on all parts of mapping, from surveyors’ notes to map folding.
