This is a style I have not done since the 1990's. I went to the NASA website and Hubble telescope images (amazing photos) and used images I found there as the base for this work.
The use of inks, transparent, opaque and metallic on black board gave me the power of this image. I hope that all viewers enjoy this image. This art would look great in a boy or girls room as well as a family room or a home theatre room. The colors are vibrant and gives off a sense of energy. This would also look great in a small space.

I would work 8-10 hours daily on engraving a contour map with a hand held, .002 line engraver for up to 200 hours, depending on the terrain being mapped. Drawing tools have become an extension of my hand. My daily work, for over 20 years, touched on all parts of mapping, from surveyors’ notes to map folding.
