Description
My dad was a medic during WWII and he was often right in the mist of the fighting. He spent his spare time drawing what he had witnessed during this time. These are a reminder of what war is all about. This art is now a part of the Air Force Art Collection that was started in 1950. These pieces of art are constantly displayed at military bases throughout this country and around the world.
These are the prints that the Army Art Collection gave my mother when we had the opportunity to view the originals when the collection rotated through Washington, DC. No one in the family had viewed them, since he donated them at the time of his discharge after the war.

Amazing and sobering work, David. I'm grateful for your father's service as a medic. Most of my uncles also served. Who knows- he may have helped them in time of need. LF

Wonderful family legacy...your dad’s creative genius lives on thru your masterful work, David. ( my dad was likewise a master Sargent and medic in both WWII and Korea and he painted later in mid life). What an intimate share...honored to bear witness. L/F

I've just finished a fairly lengthy wander through your Dad's work and I'm now sitting here feeling ohhh sooo many things..Awe and admiration and gratitude and, and, and..Your Dad was quite a guy, wasn't he?! At first, I wondered if he had been an official War Artist - his art shows that he certainly could have been!! But, no, he was a Medic AND a War Artist!! I repeat: Your Dad was quite a guy, wasn't he!!
